Throughout my life I have benefited from the generosity of friends, teachers, coaches, and organizations. The list could go on. Like everyone I try to help when I can. I have always loved to run. This is a great opportunity to combine these life experiences with the boundless generosity of our community for Lorraine's Soup Kitchen. Thanks to my colleagues at Real Living Realty Professionals for their support and encouragement.

Running for Food : What does that mean?

Some people just do not have enough money to get the food they need. For themselves and sometimes for their loved ones. For years, Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry in Chicopee has provided a much needed assist.

I have been running since freshman year at CHS, 1965! Recently, while running through the Memorial State Park, It came to me that it would/could/should be a good thing to to run every street in Chicopee in an effort to raise money for the Soup Kitchen.

How can I make this happen? How many streets are there in Chicopee? How many miles is it? How can I turn running into money for food? There are many questions to be answered and much work to be done before I can even start running.

Tomorrow, I will tell you some of what I have found out.

  1. I've known Paul Duval for over forty years. He's always been a great runner, but more important, a great husband, father, son, friend and a great person. I am not the least bit jealous of him despite the fact that he has beaten me in every single $%& #$*@ marathon we've run together. He's got my per mile pledge even though, knowing Paul's determination, I know I'm going to have to cough up the entire pledge amount. Paul, when you run by my office, feel free to stop in for a glass of warm water. Dave Momnie
